I visited the doctor again since my last post, but without much progress. It was basically “Okay, I am going to fill your meds again, come see me again in two weeks and we will see about sending you to a specialist if you still aren’t feeling well.” I am feeling a bit disappointed and defeated, but at the same time I guess I should be thankful that a potential scope is being offered to me sooner rather than totally brushing me off. I have been taking things a day at a time. Some days I feel mostly myself, although a bit more tired and sluggish than usual. Other days I can’t do or eat anything. I am trying to pay attention to see if certain foods lead to tummy upset. I am not a huge fan of the idea of completely changing my diet. Instead I am focusing on foods that I like that don’t upset my stomach, and keeping more of them available.

Currently my favorite breakfast is a big bowl of kefir and granola cereal. I like to make my own granola loosely using this recipe for the ratios. I just kinda use whatever I have extras of in the cupboard. I put two big handfuls of granola in a bowl, cover it in kefir, and toss in some fresh berries if I have any. Also sometimes toss in some chia seeds or pepitas for the extra texture. I still feel like I am eating cereal, while also having something that is going to give my body a little more energy than a regular bowl of cereal. I like to approach nutrition with a focus on the foods and meals you like and building from there.

I have been trying to stay active and doing what I can. I walk over to the library at least once a week. I have been limiting my online time, so books and movies have been a big source of entertainment to me. The last time I went to the library, they had all sorts of take home craft kits. I picked out a magnet poetry kit. It included a tin, some magnet sheets, and a bunch of magazine clippings. (Great way to use up some out of circulation magazines I bet!) I didn’t realize when I started putting it together that there were way more papers than there were magnets. I wasn’t carefully picking my words until the very end. I think that is fine because it gives me a lot of unique words to work with that I normally wouldn’t pick. The first poem is mine, and the second one is my gf’s.

I have also been trying to socialize. This week my gf and I visited a friend and watched The Cat Returns. It was my gf’s first time seeing it and she loved it. It was a nice relaxing hang out. Plus they had homemade oatmeal raisin cookies to share with us. :3 I also visited a new LGBT social group with a friend. We played Cards Against Humanity and had a good time. They only meet once a month, but I do plan to try going again next month.

I am still painting! I am starting to get a little more comfortable with it, but I still have a lot to learn :) Here are two paintings I did recently. They were really fun to make!

When I am feeling a little better maybe I will get around to doing mini reviews of all the Winnie the Pooh and Scooby Doo movies I’ve been watching lately lol.

Got somethin' to say?
