Yesterday my gf and I went on a nature walk for our 14 year anniversary :] We had a good time! We got to see all sorts of critters. Right when we first got there we got to see a hawk dive bomb and terrorize a squirrel for a little bit. (The squirrel was okay!) We also saw lots of little chipmunks. Probably the most exciting part was when we took turns using the binoculars to watch a Greater Blue Heron preen itself.

I meant to take a lot of photos, but we were caught up in the Moment, so I forgot. The only thing I wish I had taken a photo of was our view when we sat to eat lunch. We sat on a park bench facing the beach and it was just really lovely outside. They’ve really cleaned up the beach from how it was when I was a kid. There are now plenty of areas to enjoy the water that are more easily accessible. They even have beach wheelchairs for rental!

I hope we get to go out there again soon. It only takes about an hour to go through the whole trail. I would love to get to go on a much longer nature trail sometime. Going on an all day hike and getting to spend the whole day with nature sounds so nice. I haven’t gotten to do something like that since I was a kid. I really should make plans to go camping or something next year.
