April 4, 2024
Happy April everyone! I meant to post this on the first, but I have been a bit busy. I am still having some mystery health issues, but I am progressing towards being better rather than getting worse. Unfortunately I might have something a little funky going on with my kidneys, possibly stones, but I am working closely with my doctor to monitor how things are going.
I don’t really have any specific plans for this month! We are having snow today :( But next week is supposed to be nice. On the days that it is nice and I am feeling well, I would like to start cleaning up the yard to prepare for the garden. I found a nice planting bench for a bargain at Aldi. I really wanted one because I didn’t have a spot outside that was at a good height for planting. I mostly grow in containers as it just makes a lot of aspects of gardening easier for me. I have a table outside, but it is too low to the ground and ends up making me be hunched over when sorting seeds and planting. Not great for the back. Hoping to find a good deal on a decent quality wheelbarrow this year too. Aldi had one, but I don’t think it would have been sturdy enough for me. We still have at least a month and a half before I can start planting outside, but I want to get some of my herb seeds started.
I haven’t been able to go to the music store yet to get the ukulele my gf was going to buy me. Every week my gf and I planned to go, I have just been too sick. Today I could probably go, but we have to walk and like I mentioned, it looks like it is going to snow and rain all day today. If we don’t go today,we can probably go next week when the weather is nicer. I am still a little disappointed though. It has been hard for me to get out of the house and I really would love to be able to go for a nice walk and go window shopping with my gf.
However, like I mentioned in my last post last post, I did end up stopping at the store and picking up some watercolor supplies. I am really glad I did! It has been about a week since I got everything, and I have been enjoying myself. I am kinda just learning how the paint moves and reacts right now. It is very soothing. I think I would mostly stick with doing abstract painting. Another time I will post some of my paintings.
I am still playing New Leaf daily. I haven’t been looking at any guides, and I don’t remember the requirements to unlock anything (it has been 10 years ya know). I just had Shrunk knock on my door yesterday asking me to get some signatures. Timmy and Tommy have upgraded their shop once. Cyrus still won’t wake up. Maybe another time I will see about sharing some pictures of my town. I think a lot of the image sharing features built into the 3DS don’t work anymore, so I would have to pull out the SD card to get my pics. The New 3DS has changeable faceplates, and the battery and SD card slot are under the backplate. So it adds an extra step to getting my photos and I kinda have executive dysfunction.
I just finished the book for Kiki’s Delivery Service the other day. Very charming. If you liked the movie you will love the book. It starts out very similar to the movie, but Kiki gets to have a lot more fun adventures than what you see in the movie. I also ended up buying the DVD for Kiki. I think it has quickly become a favorite. A friend offered to lend me the book for Howl’s Moving Castle. I haven’t seen the movie yet, so both will be new to me!
I have been borrowing a bunch of the Winnie the Pooh movies from the library. It started off as a comfort thing, but now I am just determined to watch the Winnie the Pooh cinematic universe (except the CGI shit, fuck that). I accidentally borrowed Winnie the Pooh (2011) instead of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and realized I had never seen the 2011 movie. I started looking at the other Winnie the Pooh movies and realized I don’t think I have seen most of them, even though I love Winnie the Pooh lol. I grew up watching the original movie a lot along with The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh cartoon. My godmother would read me the A.A. Milne books. I was jealous of my mom’s Eeyore plush collection. And I could go on. What I am saying is WInnie the Pooh is precious to my childhood, but I don’t recall seeing the movies made 2000s onward (Maybe I was “too old” by then?). I watched the Tigger movie and thought the message was very sweet. I picked up Piglet's Big Movie from the library yesterday, and then after that I will watch Springtime with Roo. Maybe once I am all done I will make a quick review of favorite to least favorite. So far I didn’t care for the 2011 movie. It wasn’t bad, it actually had some really good moments, but overall it just didn’t grab my attention enough.
And that’s about all I have to say for today. I hope April treats us both well. Stay safe and stay hydrated, my friends.
